There's a change of venue for this year's Rigging Out Supper and we'll be going to Horning Sailing Club. In the hospitality industry, when person A uses person B's premises for an event, they call it a Pop-Up or a Residency, but I think in EACC we will call this year's arrangement Serendipity and count ourselves lucky to have such fine friends. This year we are celebrating 90 years of EACC history and it'll be appropriate to host the start of the season courtesy of a club of a similar age.
Horning's clubhouse offers us a good sized space inside which we will EACC-ify, a south facing terrace in case it's warm enough for al fresco drinks and plenty of moorings to encourage you to come by boat, as well as car parking. There's also a kitchen which is big enough to get more than three people in at the same time, which will make a welcome change.
The food will be the usual EACC catered arrangement and if you would like to volunteer to provide a dish (a main course or a salad or a dessert) please let Cally using the link below. The cost of the ingredients will be refunded. We will have the ever-popular pop-up bar "The Skipper's Arms" again with a good range of ales, wines and soft drinks . We keep on talking about devising an EACC cocktail, but haven't managed it so far - will this be the year? You'll need to come along and find out ......
Much of the evening will be about catching up and conversation, but there will also be some form of entertainment (details to be confirmed).
